Street Celebration

Saturday
7 March 2025

12:00pm to 11:00pm | Lower Cuba Street

The celebration continues into the night with an exciting takeover of Lower Cuba Street. In collaboration with Ivy Bar, we highlight some of Wellington’s best drag performers, DJs, and local talent.

Previous years events have attracted for than 10,000 people.

This lively street party also features a market place and a fantastic food market, offering a taste of the city’s culinary delights.

If you are a food vendor, marketplace stall, performer or band and want to get involved, register your interest below.

Safety & Inclusion

All vendors, participants and organisations that partner with the Pride Parade are required to agree to our Diversity, Inclusion and Participation Policy. This is to ensure the safety of our community and to keep the parade a place that celebrates our rainbow communities.

Being a part of the parade and street celebration is a great way to show that your community group, business, organisation or team, are passionate about supporting the Rainbow and Takatāpui communities, in an authentic and real way.

Vendor Information

Vendors are essential in creating the event’s atmosphere, offering a variety of food and items to attendees.

By joining as a vendor, you’ll have the chance to not only contribute to the festivities but also connect with the community in a meaningful and impactful way.

Food vendors must hold a valid registration certificate, electrical warrant of fitness (if required) and all electrical items must be tagged.

A vendor fee is $300 per site for food and $200 for market place stalls, with an additional $50 if power is required. You can find more information in the vendor form below.

Information for Locals

The Street Celebration requires the closure of Lower Cuba Street from Saturday 6:00am to Sunday 2:00am. Parking restrictions will be enforced during this time.

Celebrations will start at 12:00pm and run to 11:00pm. This will include amplified sound from our stages. Outside of these times, the only noise will be setup and pack down.

Lower Cuba Street has a long history of events, night markets, and street celebrations.

Ivy Bay, one of Wellington's famous queer spaces, extends their bar into the street, to create a vibrant space to celebrate with a drink. This bar area is strictly R18. Don't worry, the rest of the street is open to everyone and very family friendly.
